Nvidia Radeon 490 and 490x release date

It always happens that the closer the date of release of a highly anticipated product, the greater number of rumors and more weight they arise. On this occasion we get a rumor that the release date of the upcoming graphics cards AMD , based architecture Polaris , could reach the market in late June.

Nvidia Radeon 490 and 490x release date

Actually it is quite logical, as AMD promised that the first graphic architecture Polaris arrive in the first half of this year, so the end of June would be precisely the end of the deadline set by the manufacturer. In this case we speak of the theoretical AMD Radeon R9 490 and 490x, which would top end of the new graphics architecture that in this case not only changes lithography but also memory, because in this case we would have graphics memory HBM2 with twice the performance than the previous one.

This is what is supposed, in any case, since it is known that most graphics R9 400 series AMD would graphics memory GDDR5X and not HBM2, reserving the latter only for top graphics cards range that is precisely the first that always rumored to hit the market in late June. Anyway back to remind pair that does not leave doubt that what we are dealing with are mere rumors and no official confirmation of absolutely nothing by the manufacturer.

In fact, in the Capsaicin event that AMD held during the GDC event, the manufacturer showed a release schedule in showing that the HBM2 memory will not come until early 2017, so there is still a possibility that they Radeon R9 490 and 490x GDDR5X come equipped with memory and HBM2, which if I may think it would be a failure for AMD because NVIDIA itself has confirmed that its graphics are also Pascal will have HBM2 falling memory.

Recall that the AMD Radeon R9 490 and 490x form part of the Polaris 10 architecture, focused on the segment of high-end, while the graphics architecture Polaris 11 will arrive a little later will be focused on the mid-range and have graphics memory GDDR5X but will share lithography with Polaris 10.

MSI WT72 review

The virtual reality is on everyone ‘s lips lovers hardware in recent times, and manufacturers are rushing to introduce their products VR Ready for users interested in this business. MSI has its first team “certification” (internal) for virtual reality systems, the MSI WT72 of which I speak in today.

Basically what MSI has done has been to update one of its laptop models aimed at professional CAD design and adapt to new requirements with virtual reality systems to create the WT72. This is a team that has a graphics card NVIDIA Quadro M5500, Intel Core i7 or Xeon sixth generation and up to 64 GB of RAM DDR4 memory, so performance you will not miss with this combination of hardware.

The biggest innovation is the inclusion of the new NVIDIA Quadro graphics M5500, a GPU that provides 35% more performance than the previous generation. Andy Tung, MSI CEO of America said about it that “The MSI WT72 with NVIDIA Quadro M5500 is the world ‘s first notebook that can literally with any task, including graphic design and virtual reality systems.”

To enhance the multimedia experience, MSI has integrated into the WT72 the Dynaudio sound technology, in this case with an audio optimizer Nahimic. They have also introduced new panels Ultra HD 17.3 inch True Color technology with Adobe RGB certification, SteelSeries backlit keyboard, and USB connectivity Thunderbolt 3 and 3.1. As you can see, MSI has taken its professional teams and has integrated them some of the characteristics of their equipment Gaming to create the new WT72. These are its characteristics such as we announced the manufacturer.

MSI WT72 specs

At the moment it is unknown when this new team will come to market and price, although seen your hardware can expect prices not suitable for many pockets (we speak of more than 4,000 euros a good insurance).

Asus GeForce GTX 950 TUF Echelon limited edition released

Asus GeForce GTX 950 TUF Echelon review

Contrary to what usually happens with most of limited edition graphics cards, the Asus TUF Echelon incorporates much more than a cosmetic change. And is that honoring the name TUF that the manufacturer only uses in its base higher end motherboards and are designed under military standards, the GTX 950 TUF Echelon has electronic components of the highest quality and, as with the plates exceeds the strictest military standards of quality to ensure a long life. Acer Aspire VN7-791G Black Edition comes with Nvidia GTX 950M GPU.

And for the manufacturing process of these graphics Asus uses elo who have called Asus Auto Extreme (AAE), an automated manufacturing process that incorporates premium quality materials technology and ensures that each and every one of the components exiting the production chain are exactly the same, so you only need to make quality tests a model and have the absolute certainty that all the others will too.

Asus GeForce GTX 950 TUF Echelon reviews

Some of the tests they do to these charts to ensure quality and durability, for example, subject them to beatings, maintain full chart at 55 ° C for 48 hours with humidity above 90% (in this case corrosion kill any “normal”) electronic component, and in general, Asus has tested over 1000 units of the TUF Echelon under these tests to ensure that the models launched on the market are simply perfect.

Review of Asus GeForce GTX 950 TUF Echelon

Regarding aesthetics, as you will see by the images Asus has equipped the TUF Echelon of a military aesthetic reasons greyish white with “urban camo”. It is equipped with the usual sink Asus DirectCU II fans with double ball bearing according to the manufacturer temperatures provide 20% better and a noise level three times lower than the reference models in this graph.

Speaking a little of everything, the TUF Echelon GTX 950 from Asus also has factory overclocked, as Asus has raised the operating frequency of the core to the 1329 Mhz, delivering a performance 10% higher than the GTX 950 reference NVIDIA.

Asus A555L Review: An excellent cheap gaming laptop

Asus A555L is a gaming laptop that does not cost a lot. Right now, it is being sold for under 50000 rupees in the Indian market which is less than 1000 dollars. For this, the buyer gets a 15.6 inch laptop with Intel Core i5 processor and powerful Nvidia GeForce 930M graphics core. Read the full Asus A555L review below.

Asus A555L Review

Design – The casing of the Asus A555L is similar to the F550 and X550 line and that is not a bad thing at all. We love how slim and nice it looks. We adore its tapered sides that gives it a ultrabook like appearance. The lid has nice textured to it.

Asus A555L Review

Recovery – There is no recovery DVD inside the box but you do have a 500MB recovery partition that will easily help you get to the factory state. On the left we have power socket, Gigabit-Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, Kensington lock slot and right side features memory-card reader, combo audio jack, USB 2.0 and DVD writer.

Keyboard + Touchpad – Asus A555L dons a nice full size laptop keyboard with dedicated number pad. The keys are chiclet type and have subtly roughened surface, medium drop and clear pressure point. If you love typing, you will have no problem in typing novels on it. That said, I do yearn for a full size right shift key. The multi touch trackpad has surface area of 10.5×7.3 centimeters and supports all windows 10 gestures. Left and right click keys are built into the touchpad.

Asus A555L Review

Display – The display is not the brightest we have seen from Asus but is just ok for gaming and general use. It does have slight yellowish cast to it so white colors appear a bit yellowish. You will only notice this when doing some photo editing or when comparing to something that has higher quality IPS display.

GPU – Asus A555L is a well all-around laptop with decent gaming capable GPU. Performance in gaming is excellent. We had no troubles playing Street Fighter IV on it. There were no drop in frames or performance. Same can be said about other games we played on it which include Tomb Raider, Age of Racing, Asphalt 8 Airborne and so on.

Asus A555L Review

Processor – Asus A555L comes with Intel Core i5 5200U processor that is used in a lot of mid range laptops and ultrabooks. It does an excellent job in loading applications and games quickly. All this when coupled with 8GB RAM ensures uncompromised speed with very little chance of paging. It scored 3688 in the cpu passmark benchmark test which is an excellent figure. In comparison, the i7 5500U scored 4039 so there is no need to get the i7 version over this i5 variant.

Temperature – Asus must be praised for keeping the overall temperature of the laptop low at all times. Its Ice Cool tech really seemed to be working and the temperature never came close to 40 degrees anytime during the stress test.

Asus A555L Review
You can easily upgrade the RAM to 16GB as Asus has provided a door at the bottom to access the RAM.

Battery life – If all you do is web surfing and do usual work over Wi-Fi, you will be getting just over 4 hours of battery life runtime with it. If you do gaming, do not expect it to give you 1-1.5 hour of runtime.

Verdict – Asus A555L is an excellent cheap gaming laptop under 50000. There is no need to spend 80000-100000 on a laptop just to play games. Asus A555L impressed us while running the most CPU-intensive apps and of course, high end games. Yes the display is not the most accurate screen we have used and nor does it pack full HD resolution but at 50000, we just cannot complain much.

AMD Radeon R9 Fury versus Geforce GTX 980

Specifications of Fiji based 28nm graphic card AMD Radeon R9 Fury have been leaked and it is directly going to be compared with the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980. The AMD Radeon R9 Fury is slated to go on sale with a price tag of 640 euros.

AMD Radeon R9 Fury reviews

AMD Radeon R9 Fury specifications

The leaked specifications of AMD Radeon R9 Fury include 56 compute units meaning it will have 3,584 Stream Processors, leaving the number of TMUs in 224 and the number of ROPs to 64. The memory configuration of this graphics card has not undergone any change and will come with four gigabytes of HBM graphics memory.

Of course, contrary to what is believed, the only difference from the Fury X hardware level will be that we have already counted, ie operating frequencies will be the same: 1050 MHz in the core and 500 Mhz memory (bandwidth with total memory of 512 GB / s). Therefore, based on empirical data regarding the difference Fury X is 12.5%.

To come with air cooling heat sinks

Another key difference is the sink. Since the AMD Radeon R9 Fury will sink air cooling instead of water cooling, the Fury X will operate at slightly higher temperatures. We can therefore expect the temperatures to reach around 75 degrees centigrade.

AMD Radeon R9 Fury review

Direct competition with GeForce GTX 980

With these specifications in hand, the AMD Radon R9 Fury will be a direct competitor to the GTX 980. Again we must insist that this is a very good situation for users as well as having a greater number of options. It is possible that AMD and NVIDIA entering a small price war and can get hold of one of these gem at great prices.
