Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 has been announced by thru Japanese giant and it is one of the few tablets out there with 4k resolution. Powered by fifth generation Intel Core I-series processor, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 specifications include Intel Core i5 5300u processor with dual cores and quad threading support, 8 gigabytes of memory and 256GB solid state drive.
Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1’s i5 5300u processor runs at a clock speed of 2.3GHz clock speed and has support for vPro platform. Here is 5300u benchmark. Graphics are handled by the Intel HD Graphics 5500 that has maximum dynamic frequency of 900MHz. So Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 can easily meet even the most demanding tasks easily.
That said, the highlight of Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Y1 is its 20 inch display packing 4k 3840 * 2560 pixel resolution. This gives you whopping 230 PPI on its massive display featuring IPS Alpha tech. This display can operated through touch, as well as through digital stylus.
Rest of its specs include dual band IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, three USB 3.0 ports, SDXC memory card slot, HD video (720p) camera, HDMI 2.0, Smart Card Reader, Mini Display Port, and LAN. Components enclosed in a housing have thickness of 12.5 millimeters with weight of only 2.41 kg. Windows 8.1 Pro runs on it.
Panasonic ELUGA U2 was previously launched with only one color, white but today the company has added another color, pink to lure female users. This Android phone is now on sale in Taiwan for 7,990 Taiwan dollars which is about 260 dollars. The phone runs Android 5 lollipop operating system with FIT HOME UI on top.
Panasonic ELUGA U2 specifications include Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) 64 bit chipset whose CPU runs at 1.2 GHz clock speed, 5.0 inches HD (720 * 1280) IPS LCD display, 5 megapixel camera in front and 13 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor in the back is present.
Wireless radios include LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n (2.4GHz and 5.xGHz Dual-Band). Supported GSM networks are FDD-LTE 2600 (B7) / 1800 (B3) / 900 (B8) / 700 (B28) MHz, W-CDMA 2100 (I) / 1900 (II) / 900 (VIII) / 850 (V) MHz and GSM 1900/1800/900/850 MHz.
System memory of Panasonic ELUGA U2 is 2GB while the internal storage is 16GB. Battery is non user replaceable and packs 2500 mAh juice. Its manufacturing is done by Quanta computers that used to manufacture O2 phones like O2 XDA Diamond in the past.
All Panasonic smartphones on sale run Android operating system but the company is also planning to launch a phone running windows phone operating system.
Panasonic is planning to launch its Android devices in UAE by this year end. The company has enjoyed decent sales in India with its budget phones and is planning on achieving five percent market share by end-2014. The company will be bringing their phones from India to UAE.
Managing director for Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa Shinichi Wakita told Khaleej Times that a windows phone handset is also in the works.
Panasonic India uploaded teaser images at the Panasonic India Facebook page. It also uploaded a teaser video on YouTube containing some specifications of the Panasonic P31, which was later removed. As per the video, the P31 will run Android (unspecified version). It also didn’t detail whether the device is a single SIM or a dual-SIM one.
