Virgin Mobile is offering the 16 gigabyte variant of Apple iPhone 5S for $385 and that’s without contract. The cheaper version of the iPhone, the 5C will start at $315. However the phones locked to Virgin Mobile and operates on Sprint’s 3G/4G network.

Sprint which is under stiff competition from the likes of T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon is struggling to get new subscribers and to keep the ones it already has. So it is now turning to layoffs and closing stores in order to keep its profits up.
The network provider announced today that it has laid off 330 techs and closed 55 stores to reduce overall running costs. The staff in the stores were dedicated for repairing phones for the Sprint current customers.
